Our standards
Editorial Policy
ModernCarGear publishes independent research, reviews, comparisons, and practical guides for automotive accessories and electronics.
Accuracy and sourcing
Writers should verify important specifications, compatibility requirements, safety information, and warranty terms using primary documentation whenever possible. Claims from manufacturers are attributed and checked against additional credible evidence.
Original value
We do not simply rewrite product listings. Articles should explain tradeoffs, suitable use cases, limitations, alternatives, and the factors that materially affect a purchase decision.
Testing transparency
We distinguish hands-on testing from research-based evaluation. We do not claim to have installed, measured, or tested a product unless that work was actually performed and documented.
Affiliate relationships
Commercial relationships do not give a brand control over our conclusions. Affiliate links are disclosed clearly, and commissions do not determine whether a product receives favorable coverage.
Corrections and updates
Substantive errors are corrected as soon as practical. Updated dates are changed only when an article has received a meaningful review. Major corrections may be explained within the article when helpful to readers.
Conflicts of interest
Writers and editors should disclose relevant gifts, sponsorships, samples, employment, or other relationships that could reasonably affect their judgment.
Reader feedback
We welcome specific corrections and evidence through our Contact page. Feedback is reviewed by the editorial team, but changes are made based on verifiable information rather than pressure from a brand or seller.
